In this post I will explain how to use the HC10 Bluetooth UART module to connect an iPhone app to an Arduino over Bluetooth LE. This is as far as I know the easiest and most affordable way to have an iOS app and an Arduino interact with each other.
Features of Bluetooth Module HC10
- A PC connected to the Arduino over a Serial connection through a USB port. Using the hardware Serial port(s) of the Arduino.
- The Arduino is connected to the BLE module via Serial Rx and Tx pins (and power, obviously). With logic conversion, if required by the module. Using on any two available Arduino digital pins.
- The BLE module can then be connecting wirelessly via RF to another BLE device.
