The ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver is a simple to use ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver, compatible with anything that can output a digital 0 to 5V pulse. The Easy Driver requires a 6V to 30V supply to power the motor and can power any voltage of stepper motor. The EasyDriver has an on board voltage regulator for the digital interface that can be set to Connect a 4-wire stepper motor and a microcontroller and you’ve got precision motor control! EasyDriver drives bi-polar motors, and motors wired as bi-polar. I.e. 4,6, or 8 wire stepper motors. Stepper Motor Driver Board is to use the to drive the 4-phase 5-wire stepper motor . It’s easy to use Arduino or other development platform to drive the stepper motor by this diver board. Stepper motor drivers are specifically designed to drive. which are capable of continuous rotation with precise position control, even without a feedback system.
Features of ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver :
- The rotation angle of the motor is proportional to the input pulse.
- The motor has full torque at standstill(if the windings are energized)
- Precise positioning and repeatability of movement since good stepper motors have an accuracy of – 5% of a step and this error is non cumulative from one step to the next.
- Excellent response to starting/stopping/reversing.
- Very reliable since there are no contact brushes in the motor. Therefore the life of the motor is simply dependant on the life of the bearing.
- The motors response to digital input pulses provides open-loop control, making the motor simpler and less costly to control.
- It is possible to achieve very low speed synchronous rotation with a load that is directly coupled to the shaft.
- A wide range of rotational speeds can be realized as the speed is proportional to the frequency of the input pulses.
ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver Pin Configuration:
No | Pin Name | Description |
1 to 7 | Input 1 to Input 7 | Seven Input pins of Darlington pair, each pin is connected to the base of the transistor and can be triggered by using +5V |
8 | Ground | Ground Reference Voltage 0V |
9 | COM | Used as test pin or Voltage suppresser pin (optional to use) |
10 to 16 | Output 1 to Output 7 | Respective outputs of seven input pins. Each output pin will be connected to ground only when its respective input pin is high(+5V) |
